Riverside Family Medicine Clinic

Please note, we are not a walk-in clinic

It's flu season - Remember to reach out to your local pharmacy or check out the Immunize BC Find an Influenza (Flu) Clinic website to find a flu clinic near you!

If you feel you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please go to https://bc.thrive.health/ for a self-assessment tool, or call 811 for the nurses hotline.  For reliable updates on COVID-19, please visit: BC Centre for Disease Control or Interior Health.

Due to COVID-19, we are booking phone appointments first for everyone's protection.  After your phone appointment, if your physician feels you require an in-person appointment, it will be arranged in a safe manner.

A stepwise approach to prepare for an in office appointment at Riverside Family Medicine:
Since booking your in-office appointment, have you developed any new risk factors:
  • fever
  • chills
  • new or worsening cough
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • new muscle aches
  • headache
If you have developed any of these symptoms OR traveled out of the country in the last 14 days, please call our office and reschedule your appointment.
  1. Please arrive to your appointment alone, unless absolutely necessary and please review this with our office prior to arriving.
  2. There are currently only 4 patients allowed in the waiting room at a time to allow for social distancing. If you see 4 patients in the office please to wait outside the office or in your car. If possible you may call the office to check in.
  3. If you have your own mask, please wear it into the office and throughout your appointment.
  4. You will be asked to sanitize your hands immediately upon entering the office.
  5. If you do not have your own mask you will be provided one upon entering the office for the duration of your visit. You will be asked to put it on once your hands are sanitized.
  6. Physical distancing in the waiting room will be required, and the chairs are in place accordingly.
  7. If you develop any new risks/symptoms between now and the time of your appointment please call and cancel/reschedule your in office visit.

Our clinic has recently become a part of the Kootenay Boundary Primary Care Network. This network introduces new health-care team members to further support patient care  (social workers, occupational therapist, nurse practitioners etc.) For more information please click here.

MORE INFORMATION

To our valued patients
As we are a very busy clinic, we require unneeded appointments to be cancelled with no less than 24 hours notice.
Missed appointments may result in a fee that will be charged to the patient. However, due to COVID-19 we will make exceptions if you have developed any respiratory symptoms and need to cancel with less notice.
Thank you for your understanding.
